it is a rough track- but you get used to it. My 18's and stiff suspension really didnt help anything in that department but after a couple sessions it was business as usual. I was doing ok on the track, ran a 1:20 lap from what i hear, at 13lbs boost. Skip ran a quick 1:17 in his awsome race car though, and that was just the shakedown runs. Im sure he'll be easily into the 1:10's or less.

Dan is quick as hell at Nelson for only his second time there - I bet he turned some sub-1:20's which is scooting. Getting under 1:20 is like breaking 1:50 at Mid-O. His car sounded phenomenal going down the front straight as well.
I have a ways to go to get down to the low teen's. Looking forward to trying.
For frame of reference to what is possible in a track prepped car - Fred Baker ran 1:15's in a 944 Turbo Cup - that's crazy fast in that car. He goes flat out from the Carousel through the kink - no lift. Still don't have the nerve to do that.

ahh, if i started racing i would prob have to remove my working a/c, power steering and cruise, pull the spare tire, jack, compressor etc out of the car.
Mike Markota- i saw you guys getting ready for the gimmick rally but didnt click it was MM951 until i saw your drivers license. Nice looking car.

Wish Melissa and I could of made it but the new job prevented such things. Looks like a blast as always and I am completely jealous of:
1. the track time
2. the turbos (nope, I'm still going to keep the n/a flame burnin anyway)
3. Cuz was there!
4. the track time
But I gotta know, did anyone make the liquid sunshine?

Sounds like you guys had a another great time at the Fest this year. I wish I could have made it - the Army had other plans for me.
Dan P has created a lasting legacy - long live the 944Fest!
Dan J - I have to throw the challenge flag on you buddy. Its time to stop playing "pretend" racer and come run with the big boys.
Leave the A/C, and cruise contol in (its required in the stock classes - along with a bunch of added safety equipment). But, you'll have to ditch the tial, chip, boost controller, late offset and most of the other non-stock go-fast stuff. Or, you can leave it in - but you'll be in the GT Class - and those guys run laps at Mid Ohio well under 1:40 - on the club course.
Going fast at a DE is like paying for sex - its a hollow victory.
So grab your sack and come race with us - if you think you can handle it.
Racing is life.....
