By the time I get off work I should have all the parts I need to get started. I will be replacing the bushings, ball joints, shocks, sturts and front springs on my 924S tonight and the next few days as it will take longer than a few hours. I am looking for any kind of advice that people might have for me before I get started on this job. The only bushings I am replacing are the ones on the front control arms. Do they have to pressed in? Also I am lowering the front end about an inch. How can i line that up with the rear suspension?

do u have the ones that can be removed? my 83 had the non serviceable bushings that were glued to the control arm.
since it doesn't need to be intact, i'm sure you can find various implements in the garage to remove a bushing

My blog kevingosselin.blogspot.com has some pics of when I did this.
To get the old bushing out, drill through the rubber with a regular hand drill in about 4-5 spots and the bushing can be tapped out easily with a screw driver and hammer.
To press in the bushing, a regular bench vice, dish soap, and a large enough socket are all you need.

I already hit a bump. I have the bottom bolt out on spindle, but the top eccentric bolt I can't seem to get out. It is like frozen. Does anyone have any tips? I have PB blaster on it right now, and I tried an impact gun. Will I have to get new bolts and just cut it off? I would rather not cut it off and have the alignment place replace it if necessary. Any tips to get this off would be helpful. HELP ME!!!!!

If you can, get a breaker bar in there, and use a long "cheater" bar from the galvanized metal pipe (plumbing) section of your local hardware store that can fit around your breaker bar. You might also try heat (propane torch works sometimes) and then touch a candle to it. Sometimes the wax gets in there and can break things loose.

Take the whole strut out and spindle out and take it to a shop tomorrow to break off if you do not have a larger helper bar. I find the handle of my floor jack is great big cheater bar.

Okay my problem is that the whole bolt spins. Which when that happens it bends that metal that is supposed to stop the washer or move it for camber. I don't want that to get messed up. I am using a breaker bar and an impact gun. I am letting the PB blaster sit over night. I just found out my ball joints are riveted on what do I do to change those? How do you take the sway bar mounts off the control arms?

That may be a problem now. Since the bolt has already been spinning. I was trying to use an impact gun for this. The other side worked, but I may have to get a new washer which I would leave up to the place whereever I get it aligned at. I will try to use the breaker bar again. I have let it sit overnight with some PB blaster on it. Hopefully that will break it free.

And just drill out the balljoints, again pics on my site. search SPEC 944 on there.
You just drill them out. Buy the proper hardware to install new ones. Very, very easy.
