Why not ask them to return it in the same crate you used to ship to them?

How long have you been waiting for that set up?

Curses, I wish I'd thought of that...

I recently had a roll bar shipped from Texas to California. Keep in mind, this is 3/16 wall, 1.75" tubing. You guessed it, UPS bent it all up.... Unbeliveable!!

I know UPS has a reputation for smashing packages.

Hi Dan,

We have learned from our partnership with you on the 951 engine. Yes, we shipped it very very very late, and in yours and my opinion sloppy on the pallet. Since then, you have contacted me, and have hopefully patched things up.Yes, our agreement still stands on the warranty and parts. Your call will be our company priority if and when it comes. As a result of our dealings we have now implemented an new an extensive shipping proceedure for motors. We mount them proper, meaning as they are resting in the engine bay, bolted to a pallet. Then encased in a full box made of 1/2" plywood.

I would like to say on this subject, That Dan, has helped us in our growing process. I know you are all aware of the ranting, and might expect there to be tension in our arrangement, but its quite the the oposite.

I would like to say thanks to all of you. If you quit making us aware then we all loose. As harsh as the comments might be, you ARE spending the money, we have to deliver. Its tough, but we are growing each day, and learning along the way.

Take Care

I feel very much so, that you should take your complaints OFF THE BOARD, and deal with the companies in question personally; we do not need to hear your dirty laundry; I am sick and tired of people rushing to say something is a week late, card was charged a week early. If you don't like the way they deal business, don't deal with them!

Deal with the shop first! If you do not have satisfaction after a few weeks, then I can understand that; but rushing online to tell on someone is rediculous!

Julie,

I respectfully disagree. I have heard good and bad about suppliers here and I for one would like to benefit from others experiences.

Isn't that what information sharing ie Rennlist is about?

I agree with Mark. I think 'listers should share both good and bad experiences here, so we can all make our own decisions regarding who to patronize and who to avoid.

I too have to agree that sharing of information re: suppliers is very important to me on Rennlist. I feel that I've learned a lot about the many companies that are discussed here, and as such, have made decisions as to whom I will and won't do business with.

Mr. Anderson, VERY WELL SAID!! Thank you!

Hey all -

Re-read Julie's post...

If you contact the company FIRST, and still can't get resolution - then prehaps come to Rennlist. But don't get a package in the mail, have an issue with it - and immediately jump to the board to post about it.

John Anderson - well said. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Devia - well said. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Thanks!

If a supplier uses this board to promote or advertise their products, latest sales, or tell everyone why their stuff is so much better, then I believe it's completely appropriate for negatives to be posted.

I do agree with Julie that it should try to be resolved with the shop first. If that gets you nowhere, bring the dirty laundry out. As far as Huntley goes, they may be the best 944 shop in the world, but I don't have a lot of faith in them based upon the negatives I've read on this list. If it was just one or two complaints I'd spend some money with them, but twenty or thirty complaints steers my wallet in a different direction.

Live by the board, die by the board.... so to speak.

Jay,

I dealt with Paragon, because I have heard nothing but good things about them here. You can imagine my disappointment when I saw that my new Koni's had arrived and the box looked as if it was dragged by UPS from Texas to NH. But I was happy to see that they were packed well enough to survive.
