Default Another 944 Project

Hi All, my project on making my 944S2 into a serious trackday machine is under way. Despite the fact that I'm almost half a world a way from most of you I thought I'd share a bit with you all. Maybe you guys are fed up with all these treads on building trackcars, then just let me know.

Any tips and additional info is really welcome. Its a pain in the butt to get parts into Thailand, duties are prohibitive so all help is welcome.

So we started with a 1989 3.0S2, stripped it quite completely and we're slowly rebuilding right now.

Fase 1 is just this, strip and rebuild. All suspension comes from Deutschnine, took the whole package on that. A-arms, rear suspension including the axle, KW coilovers.

Current status is rebuilding the car with all standard parts at the bodyshop, then we'll go workshop and start putting in all the upgrading parts.

So what we got to replace and have laying around right now

A-arms, camberplates and O structure for the front (D9)
Lightweight rear axle, new guide arms for the rear (D9)
Kw V3 coilovers (KW Thailand)
Big Blacks for the front with turbo rotor/hats from Lindsey
Maf conversion kit (D9)
Bonnet Vents (D9)
GTS Headlights (D9)
Solid engine and tranny mounts (Lindsey)
Chip (Lindsey)
Weltmeister swaybars (Lindsey)
Lexan windows except front (D9)
Spec lwf and clutch (Lindsey)
Recaro Profi's 2x
Cage (customcages) kit weld in
Momo steering wheel and quick release
Fuel cell

Still to get
Fire extinguisher system
All electrical stuff like cut offs etc.

Still to figure out:

I've got a 968 6 speed box with LSD, thought I could just slip that in, but hear things about needing 968 gear linkage and driveshaft(s) to make that work. I don't know yet for sure so if possible, please enlighten me.

After the car is up and running I will sent a spare 3.0 engine to Chris at Turbokraft (in the USA) for making a 3.0 16v turbo engine which we then can put in later in the year.

So herewith the pics of what we did so far, will keep you all posted on progress from here on.

Let me know your thoughts.

ahhhh, forgot to tell, just received the wheels today, Volks Rays TE37's had to repaint them coz wanted them black. Plan to run on Nitto NT01, have those also already, will try 275/35x18 and 235/40x18 for the first set.

Its my company's color yellow... so it hurts a bit on the eyes but the black decals will soften it up later on... (I hope).

Will make pics of the wheels on Monday, will put them on the 993 for a trackday.... coming up...

Car looks really great, but maybe want to replace that old yellowed coolant overflow tank with a new one or go to one of the stainless steel ones ! None the less, what a great looking job!!
Oh, and I really like that yellow paint ! Looks like Speed Yellow !!
