It's all open air, they have a spray cabin though. It's downtown Bangkok, nothing gets wheeled anywhere, they just close the boom in the evening...

I wonder what the drivetrain setup on the 968RSR Turbo was ? The 968 guys would know, I'm sure. Only eight built I've heard... Jason from Paragon Parts owns one of them, I believe!

Coolest project I've seen in a long time, Henk... great vision, great work!

Yeah Olli
Reminds me of the big guy who gets handed the menu in a restaurant and just says yes....to everything. The D9 stuff is good quality so no probs there. Those KW spring rates are out a little. You don't want such an imbalance front to rear. What is the projected target weight of the vehicle? What are the tracks like surface wise where you will be running? This will determine your spring rates.
I've currently got KW 2 way race with 110 front and 50n rear + 25.5mm T bar. This is equivalent to 616 and 708 and I want to get stiffer springs, but my car is a road / track 951, so it's heavier than your track only S2 will be.
Great looking cage.

I'm with you on the springs. KW supplied their standard clubsport set for torsion bar retaining. That won't go so they came back with the 140 spring and revalving which is like 800 I realize now. So the front seems light to me, I will just get a set of 110 for the front and then see how all that works.

Happy with Deutschnine. One of the reasons I had to go that way is exactly because parts are hard to get, 944 expertise is limited and there's not a place I can go and say, hey what you think? So I thought I do the suspension right in one go/shipment.

Thanks for the input :

Our tracks are short and twisty although we have a new one coming up which is more sweeping but that will be another few months. We have a 2.4 km track where the cup cars do 1.05 and a 2.6 km track where they do 1.22. The surface is abrasive and kinda bumpy on both.

So have you ordered the 2 way race? Seems an odd balance of spring rates that they've allocated for your order? I would go for 110N up front and maybe the 140N on the rear, or maybe 120N-130N but your car will be lighter than mine is at the moment so maybe you don't need to go so stiff? Is your track up and down as well as twisty? Remember the stiffer the spring rate may affect your grip levels?

Yup, thats how it will be 110 front and 140 rear. On the front I can just swap the springs for the rear I'm waiting for KW what they plan to do. Will, of course, let you know.
We have some up and down but very gradual and not too tricksy....

I can't wait to see your TE37s mounted. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a set myself, but I'm curious how they fit.

I put them on the 993 yesterday since we had an afternoon at the track. now this doesn't mean anything of course for the 944 but still I'd like to show it.

I think the 944 will be in the workshop next week for the suspension work, we'll then also put the wheels on. We'll have to because the 993 turbo brakes won't fit the 16inches. So here's a few pics.

Default Update April 8

okay, the car is almost done for its basic re-build. Still have to put the BMW mirrors on the car and glue in the front windshield. Then she'll go to the workshop to start the detail work. Fuel supply, electric stuff, lexan windows, 968 gearbox, all suspension work.

This is how she looked today....

Sean, I tell you, i read the installation instructions and thought "ef it" I'll live without them. Took'em to the bodyshop and they said, no problem, we'll do that for you. I was expecting trouble with it, but alas, they're in. As I've said before, the Thai are great fixers and have a patience thats beyond me for handicraft. So i was pleasantly surprised.
