Turbo or not?

I was simply stating that it was feasible.

at this point the special olympics picture needs to be inserted, because even if somene was stupid enoungh (and stupid is the kindest word i can think of) to spend 25k on a NA, it would still be just a fancy audi.

And add $400 for the 968 mirrors
edit: seriously, another way to tell the turbo from the NA (besides, you know, actually having the turbo in there) is from the VIN. Turbo will have "95", NA will have "94" for the model number. Always ask the seller for the VIN, then do a free VIN check for lost/ flooded/ stolen... and/or CarFax, if you want

Simple test to determine if it's a turbo...step on the gas. If it goes "woo woo".........it's a turbo.

So just the other day I found a ridiculously good deal on an 88 Turbo. The guy sent me some pics, and now I'm really skeptical. Forgive me, I feel like I should be able to identify this without help, but I dont know a whole lot about engines. Anyway, here's a picture.
If I'm not mistaken, there should be a plastic cover with the "Turbo" insignia over that intake(?) there. Am I correct? Or is the engine just modified? I recently popped the hood on an NA 944 and it looked EXACTLY like this.
Thanks in advance.

Okay, let's block this out:
Complete swap kit, with cooling system, and all the bells and whistles, from Renegade Hybrids: 6K
New crate LS3: 6K
Miscellaneous expenses to fit new engine (computer, wiring harness, etc): 3k
Turbo trans with LSD: 1.5K
Really nice wheels and new tires: 3k
New high-end paint job 5k
That gets us pretty close right there.
It's a question of priorities; how much 25k is worth to you, versus how much it's worth to you to have a fun custom conversion. 25k really isn't that much; it's the price of a new Accord.
To wax philosophical for a moment, the word stupid means "your actions do not lead to your goals". Using the word stupid to mean "your actions do not lead to *my* goals" is kind of silly.

I am nearly certain that this car is part of a scam. It showed up a few years ago for sale by someone who was not the owner - they had pirated the photos off the internet and were selling it for a ridiculously low price. Looks like it has come around again...
