Eh, boy. Fix the engine ground before you go any further. I have read that if bad, the DME can fry. Sparks are pretty bad. There is another ground ~20mm away from that one, dress it too while you're at it.
To be clear, no tachometer response at all when cranking? I thought it was supposed to bounce.

No, you need to pay attention to what people are telling you if you want to continue to get advice.

CLEAN THE GROUNDS. Then re-attach. This was no suggested so that we can all PM each other and laugh about getting you to do unnecessary work. It was suggested because it's a contributing factor to this issue. Especially now that it's been arcing, and has undoubtedly built up carbon deposits on the grounding surfaces.

1.) the intake manifold does not need to be off to do that.
2.) People are trying to help you. But I really don't thing anyone is going to just bail you out of your mess.

If you're that frustrated, just walk away form the car for a while. Or sell it.

so did you adjust the depth of the ref sensor per clarks garage as well, or is it rubbing the flywheel.

What's a hall sender worth anyway?

Are all the grounds now clean/tight?

Actually, in his defense, you pretty much have to take the intake manifold off to clean those grounds on the S.
