I'm not knocking your efforts, the car looks pretty good so far. But, for $109 you can get a 1 gallon single stage urethane paint kit (everything you need except for primer) from TCPGlobal.com in a wide variety of colors and theoretically get a much more professional looking paint job (depending on your persistence and skill). I used them for my son's 86 NA and it eventually (after 1 or 2 mishaps) came out extremely nice.

Nice work.
For the non-believers, here's a useful post on another board (exclusively pre '64 car guys) about painting inexpensively. I'm a fan of thinned Rustoleum.

Any of the paint gods know if it's smart to try and paint a car with a gun if you haven't before? Since I am retired Air Force I can still use things on post. Every installation has a paint booth and about 6 bays to work on cars. The place near me has 2 paint booths and all the tools required, you just have to supply paint/any consumables. I have seriously considered this option but scared to paint a car with no experience.
Where would I buy paint and what would be good? Do I need to know what kind of sprayer they use etc before buying paint? Also could I spray a car in a weekend with the right tools? It's an hour drive and some bases are very particular about leaving a car unattended. I figure 3 hours of prep(removing stuff), 14 hours of paint time, 3 hours to put things back. I could do 10 hours on Sat and Sunday and sleeping at the base hotel.

here's someone's paint thread; i will be doing the same eventually when i find the money and time to do it right.
shouldnt be too hard, just get some practice with an HVLP gun before you set about your car. paint a fence or something lol to get a feel for how that type of gun works, then buy a special automotive HVLP gun and have at it.

Before I had my spec car I had a turbo 240sx that I did this too.
heres the results pictures, came out pretty well... Im considering doing it again to my racecar but damn does it take a long time.
