suspension: sharp enough to handle well, but compliant enough to be a good streeter..
probably 26mm front sway, 19 back, 250# springs/28mm t-bars (or good comfy/sharp coilovers)
wheels: turbo technology twists in plain alloy (or black on a black car, or white on a white car), 18x9, 18x11 (or bigger if they make it )
body kits: widebody turbo kit with a hoop spoiler in black
mods: whatever it would take to be lightweight yet still comfortable, but more sound/vibration insulation inside the cabin
engine: supercharged 951 block, no turbo = no lag/SC'd low-compression S2 longblock. big torque all day long, high boost = high HP.
brakes: 996TT/GT2 brakes F/R

I've seen at least one and I'm sure there are more. I think it was called Lizard Skin or some such. The site I saw it on didn't list any specs so I'm not sure how well it would work compared to mat style deadening.

I would find an S2 or an S2 motor for street. No plumbing, or complexity, just power. And as noted, by reducing weight, you improve acceleration, stopping and turning (at the cost of noise). Get your handling from big sway bars, and keep the springs softer (200-250#).

I want to put things into my car, not take any more out! I'll track it once in awhile, but I don't give two schytes about the weight loss the factory deadeners would give.
As far as my interior, I'm still working on it. I put a hold on it for the holiday season so I could afford gifts for my family. My car is also at the paint shop and is undergoing a lot of body work. My Porsche is one of 3 or 4 and it's going to take awhile. Probably the end of January I hope for it to be done. Then I can finish with my dash swap. After all, they have to paint inside the car where I burned a bit of paint off with the torch.
So I really only need money to finish. Stay tuned.

everything? lol.
lets put it this way. they changed and updated so many things developing the 968 that they realized it wouldn't make sense to consider it another 944 model. although the engine and interior and basic unibody were similar to an S2, so much else was changed that it made more sense to make it a new model.
its like the current boxster/cayman. they dont simply market it as a hardtop boxster. while many people think that is all it is, a cayman has many other differences that set it apart from the boxster. they share basic underpinnings but the cayman is probably getting on 100% stiffer than a boxster because of the roof in addition to the normal structural reinforcements from a convertible platform. also it has a larger more powerful engine and various little tweaks here and there, making it a superior car.

from a general upholstery supply shop...UFO.
it looks to be pretty nice stuff, its just generic nylon pile but the color is like a spot-on match to the original. i was kinda freaked out to be honest. i recently made a speaker panel in place of the rear seats that i covered in some of the carpet and it looks like it was always there...ill get pics later
