Indeed! I'd say PS and AC are a must for the street! You can't look cool cruisin' the strip if you're sweating and grunting trying to turn!

know the 968 has some stronger parts like:

engine, trans, parts of the suspension (not sure exactly which parts besides the rear A-arm mount), brakes? other than that what else is there that matters?
-Engine is not necessarily stronger that S2 or 8V versions 944 used.
-968 suspension is more or less the same as 220hp 951 had.Only M030 swaybars are better. Also 968 caster blocks are a little bit better than 951S had. Brakes are the same as S2 or 220hp 951 had. Only 968 with M030 brakes had same 928S4 front calipers which also S2 and 951 S had. 968 trans is not stronger than 5-speed AOR transmissions. I would choose a special S2 Swiss export models trans, which was as strong as 951S AOR and had LSD and external cooling.

As a sales rep with lots of "windshield time", I've often pondered the "I just won the lottery, what do I do with the 944?" question. Assuming I'd keep it (likely, it's my first p-car), the first thing I'd do is a glass out repaint (perhaps in Signal Orange, or the original white) with all new seals, weatherstripping, etc. Then renew the entire suspension to stock specs, upgrading only the sway bars. Add either refinished 16" Fuchs or 17" Fikses. Rebuild the trans, torque tube. New all leather interior in the original brown. And, finally, commission someone to build a high compression 8v, 2.5 with individual throttle bodies and stand alone injection - just so the perenial "how much power can I get from an NA?" question can finally be answered!
