Are you asking me if I bought amirpc's car? If so, no. I bought a 87 944 Turbo from a guy in Maryland. I'll be driving it down in a few weeks.
I dunno if 944 folks hook up from time to time - but I'm definitely up for it if they do. I've got a lot to learn, that's for sure.
Do any of you that posted do any engine work? I think I'm good on major stuff for awhile on the car I bought (at least I hope - all of the big stuff has been done in the last 8k...) but definitely would like to have some digits handy in case I need some advice or some work done.
I found TPWS online - but there's gotta be some other folks out there (looks like everyone that's posted thus far does some, if not all of their own work...) for odds and ends, tweaking and such...
Thanks!

I thought maybe you had bought a project since you were asking about workshop manuals and repairs. But it's good to be prepared.
You might ask on the 951 board. I've not worked on a 951 but I often hear it's more complex than the NA due to the extra stuff that has to be removed to do work. I'm sure you're going to discover that soon enough.

No fortunately this isn't a project car...it's pretty well taken care of...the guy who sold it has a brother who is a certified Porsche mechanic so he was able to get parts at cost and cheap/free labor. He's really taken exquisite care of the vehicle...It's an 87 951 with 85k on it. That said, I'm sure it's a matter of time before something needs work and it's always nice to know some local folks - especially for the smaller stuff. I can't say I'm much of an engine mechanic...never owned a car that I did any of that type of work on so I'm sure I'll be in for a big suprise here in the next few years...
Look forward to meeting some fellow Austin 944 owners though...do folks get together from time to time?

Mines a project car - still N/A powered, but Ill probably swap for a VW or Audi motor once I get the chance. Its a pretty custom job, but its been nice so far. I do most wrenching body work etc myself. These cars arent too hard, just make sure you have the porsche manuals to it!
Good to see so many in Austin with 944's!

Hey guys,
Hope I'm not barging in, but I'm looking at a 968 in Austin and was wondering where I might be able to get a PPI done. Any suggestions? Anyone know the car? It's on Craigslist. A green 968 cab.
Thanks!

I'm in the Austin area.
As for a PPI you might try Targa Porsche Workshop (TPWS). Disclaimer: I've had no personal dealings with them, but I've heard good things. I do all my own work, so I don't have a lot of experience with local shops.
