wait by belt do you mean cam chain?

So with both cams in you now want to verify that the block is at TDC, and the cams are at TDC. If you need to move the cams a little you can....there is a spot on the exhaust cam where a large open-end wrench will fit so you can turn it....You want those pointers to point up from the head, not up to the sky....so you want the short flat part to point directly up to the sky while the corner (pointy part) points out directly perpendicular from the head.

Make sure all the carrier bolts are torqued to 15 ft-lbs, no more.

Install the chain tensioner (i think those bolts are only torqued to 7 ft-lbs, be careful with them). Install the J-tube to the tensioner. (hollow bolts are also 7ft-lbs)

With this done you now need to tighten that big 10mm cheesehead bolt that bolts into the cam, holding the cam gear on. If you have the retaining bolts put them in so you don't loose cam timing. If you don't have the bolts, get an assistant to hold a large wrench on the spot on the exhaust cam, and hold it steady against the torque you apply to the main cheesehead bolt. This bolt is to be torqued to 48-52 ft-lbs.

Make sure you turn the motor over twice by hand to make sure the timing is right before you start it!

Wait so you already have the belt on? That means you already torqued the cam gear on with the big cheesehead right?

gotcha

Yeah, be sure to roll the engine over twice to make sure it doesn't hang up.... then check the belt tensions after the first and second rolls. Good luck!

Maybe a local machine shop in your area has injector cleaning services? Make a few calls. I saw you said you have to get it done tomorrow, but if you have a few days send them to Witchhunter.

Now why did you have the cams out in the first place? Were you replacing a head gasket?

If yes: You should have put new oil and a filter in there by now, if you haven't, do it, you don't want your bearings sitting in a coolant/oil mixture. When you start it let it run up to operating temp, then change the oil and filter again...Yes 2 oil changes.

Good luck! I hope it works out for you.

2 things I can think of. Did you get the cam caps (whatever they are called) put back in the correct locations? They have numbers on them so that would be easy to double check. Since they are line bored, an out of place one will make the cam bind up. And I seem to remember someone over tightening the cam caps and the engine was hard to turn over due to the binding it caused.
