www.stable-energies.com Makes a great braket (less than BK bracket). You may have to bend the seat release lever a little to make room.
Hint: it's easier to install if you take out the seat first! (don't ask why I know this....)
-Zoltan.
PS: I forgot to mention: their mounting system installs under the passenger's seat, with the extinguisher sitting just infront of the passenger's seat.

If you've already seen this, I apologize -
But this mounting spot worked out well. It is within arms reach in case of emergency, and doesn't interfere with the passenger's legs.

I just installed the Stable Energies fire extuinguisher bracket..the one that Zoltan was talking up. Stable energies asked me twice if I had power seats...I said yes...I do have power seats, but only 4 way. So forward and back is still a manual control. The handle for the release gets in the way big time..
I removed the seat to do it...I ended up removing my big vice from the table it was mounted on and lying the seat next to it such that the seat release and bending the release.
Once the release is bent it aint bad.
If you have 8 way power seats, this isn't an issue and the install is much easier.
I found a 1984 (birth year) quarter buried under the passanger seat. I guess me and the car were meant to be...or something.
So yea, the stable energies piece is nice but if you don't have 8 way power seats maybe there's something out there that will work without bending the release?

Adrial:
I bent the release using a heavy guage pipe, and only needed to bend the lever a couple of degrees, and it clears the fire extinguisher mount no problem. (That's what Bob from Stable Energies recommended) Perhaps you bent it too much? Next autox I can show ya.
Matt R:
Is your mounting point METAL to METAL? If not, it would fail tech inspection for PCA DE. Just wondering...
V-tach: Stable Energies is near ya: it's in Garfield or Lodi, NJ. And at $40-50 the bracket is a great buy.

Thaddeus did a hella nice install where a netted holder was attached to the center of the rear seat. Hopefully he can post the pics again, and also let us know the construction. This is exactly how I want to mount mine.

Zoltan, I did bend it up more than necesary, but only so that the person sitting in the passanger seat would be able to wrap his/her hand around the handle without getting cut/rubbed by the extuinguisher mount.
I had the seat out and stock it in a vice and bend it...I was worried about it snapping if I just twisted it.
Looking at it installed in the car now, it does look like a nice piece...I haven't mounted my extuinguisher yet though.
BTW does it really matter how much I tighten down the hex bolts or is tight, tight enough?

Tight, tight enough should be good, but check periodically on the tightness: they can get loose!

Matt,
Is that your car? What kind of speaker setup do you have?

Have you sourced an ext. yet? The cheapest I found was from 928 specialists,~$65, but i have heard they are backordered for awhile. Next cheapest halon was htr3.com at ~90 for a reman. unit.

Try www.racerwholesale.com They have a 2.5 B-C extinguisher that fits nicely on the Stable Energies mount, and it's about $30.00.
I cannot find this product in their online catalog, but I know they have it. Give them a call.

I have a halon extuinguisher from the PO, but the seal around the neck is toast so I need to get it serviced.
Zoltan, If that's a dry-chemical extuinguisher you're talking about I recommend against it. Dry-chem's eat stuff...like your car.
Here are the pics of the stable-energies piece installed. In all the pics, the seat is in the fully-raised position.
the button to raise/lower the front part of the seat is giving me some troubles.. Anybody have one fo sale? (the entire switch assembly)
It bolts into holes that already exist on the seat rail assembly thingy...no drilling required.

Ummm, Adrial, I think you have the unit installed upside down! I've got mine installed with the stable energies sticker facing up, and it fits perfect with the extinguisher installed. Not sure if you can install the extinguisher mount on it the way you have it installed: bumps and vibrations may cause the mount to bend outward! My way, the mount rests on the floor a little, thus relieving pressure on the arm.
