Default port polisch angle job head works or no?

Ok first I don't want turbo!
I bought a mind 944na 87 alredy with some upgrades have exhaust , chip and cam, car runs really fast for non turbo car, having the car in porsche shop, for belts and valve cover mechanic mention me that port job really increase the combustion,! and more power he said the flow of 944 is pretty bad! these is what the guy told me!!!
I search for some proshops in head work and got the best deal with lindsey that have great price ,and seems they know their bns so my 2 questions are
-will really increase power a head job?
-will be good after polish and ported jod add bigger intake valve and racing springs! or that two things will no make a difference in Na car?

you might see a little bit more of a difference than most would seeing as you have an aftermarket cam, how much does your local shop want? iirc lindsey does fine work but its pretty pricey and is generally designed for the turbo cars more..

Not worth it, unless you increase the compression and cam immensely

From what I've learned, there can be a lot to be gained from working the head... But I heard that while in a conversation that stemmed from my 951. I'm pretty sure working the head will help.

Not too many people who have a 964 want to know about performance upgrades for a N/A. I wonder if it is the fastest N/A in the world? Also he/she is from Idaho, I thought they taught grammar there?

Head work will help improve performance but is the gain worth the price? A good port job may give you a few extra hp but only if you complete the job with improved intake, exhaust, and cam. The money spent to do the job right would quickly exceed the value of the car so I would say spend the money on suspension work and seat time on track. That is the best way to make a 944 faster.

I ported and gasket matched the head when I did the belt and head gasket job on my car... don't really have any frame of reference as far as the performance benefit goes, but it only took about an hour or so to do it. The only way to increase compression is to shave the head down couple of mm ... not sure that it's even worth it.

I do believe that many of the performance limitations in the 944 NA motor are in the head. That said I don't believe Port & Polish will resolve those issues. I belive the power limitations are driven by the shape of the combustion chamber and due the ports being too large to get allow air velocity to help fill the cylinders at higher RPM. These motors make good torque and what is missing is high RPM breathing.

rather than messing with the ports, if you want HP why not try shorter runners or ITB?

Seriously, if you want to be faster, guaranteed, the best investment is in weight reduction. Strip stuff out. Get a lighter battery. Put in light racing seats. You'll also get better handling, braking and fuel efficiency!

I have a full, original interior. In November, I was at a track event at Virginia International Raceway, and with an instructor in the right seat, I was just redlining in 4th gear at the end of the back and front straights. With the instructor out, I was upshifting to 5th 2/3rds of the way down both straights. I'm sold on weight reduction as the best n/a performance mod.
