One week?!? How about 3 months. That's what my car took, although at almost 2 months, the body shop had a fire and all of the parts that were off the car at that point were melted, toasted history. That meant new sunroof, new batwing, rear hatch and rear quarter windows, new door quarter window, sunroof and hatch seals.

mine was 4 months.

If you want a better than factory job then don't expect a quick turn around.

I decided to save money by disassembling and reassembling the car myself. Project took about four months and I just got it back from the shop painted and ready for assembly the other day. Unfortunately I've run out of time for the next week or so. All in all the project cost $ 9,500 with about $4,000 into frame and quarter panel repair. That means prep (the shop will find dents you never found) and paint came to $5,500. You can follow the project at the link below...

(Anyone have good adhesive removing ideas? Specifically for the double sided tape under the "turbo" badge and the "porsche" sticker above the bumper?)
Try wrapping some thin wire around it and moving it around to remove the badge. As for the sticker heat will be your best friend.

wow

it depends how busy your painter is; and your situation is such an extreme, that just sucks!

but if your painter says car will be done in a week, then figure 2 weeks and you should have it back

btw, I'm in process of locating another 944

With heat, I was able to peel off both the badge and the sticker, but a gummy adhesive residue is left... I'd like to remove that so the body shop doesn't have to. I've tried bug and tar remover and goof off - but neither seems to work very well...

at this point paint thinner and lacquer thinner can be considered "weak" and should work

Might not want the aircraft stripper just yet

I don't even want to talk about how long this takes to do. I don't even want to start adding it up in my head yet.
