Why would you do this? Order the parts you need directly. Have them made to spec. Why futz around and spend more money modifying a part rather get the exact one you need?

Stick with me dood. I project manage all my own design projects. This little project of ours is a piece of cake. We just need to find the right vendors.

I forwarded the ball joint info to the proposed fabricators.

It's really not all that difficult. Really.

Must... resist... desire... to... argue....

Can't do it. Ok, so why would I do this, you ask? Because Howe sells the ball joints as products. I don't get the impression that they are a job shop that makes one-off (or 100-off) custom ball joints. I could be wrong, but I just don't think so. So, whoever makes the control arms, if they use those ball joints, will need to take them apart and turn them down to fit our spindles.

Were you the retarded kid in the back of the class that would ask a question about something the teacher just got done speaking about?

Do you ever read my posts? Go back and read what I posted about speaking with Howe this morning.

UPDATE 12/09/08

Chris from S&W Precision Specialties has been researching this with me for some time now on and off. He has communicated to me that S&W is serious about fabricating these arms. S&W is a racing parts fabrication shop near the Philadelphia area. He has developed a final version and I am in the process of sending him my old late offset OE control arms.

Due to the fact that S&W will be retaining the rights to the design, we cannot show the final control arm development. We have both reached the same results as far as the Moog/Howe style screw-in ball joint. He is coming up with the final specs and details regarding the part required.

Chris will be able to provide more information once he has a true list of parts and specs.

Good stuff all....I see the light.

Keep going Chad.
I've been talking this up with some of my track buds who just don't want to shell out $1500 for something that hasn't broken (yet...)
For under a grand it would make good preventative sense.
I'm assuming this would work on S2's right?

Too funny ... Back in college we used S&W for waterjetting and tube bending, never anything more but i'm sure they're capable of the manufacturing. I can't comment on their design/analysis capabilities.

I wouln't use the bushings but rather a heim there and spacers. The screw in balljoints are very nice thats what we use on the ump Mods and dirt latemodels commonly. the heims on the inner will allow for some unique adjustments.

No disrespect intended but...

We have already beaten the Heim joint horse pretty severely. Let's let it die. The resulting design has been discussed......thoroughly to say the least.

Eddie - Yes, they will work on an S2 (are you kidding? )

At the moment we are shooting for all early and late model 944's. Any that use the existing early offset and late offset arms.
