I actually have a guy coming to look at it tonight. Do you recommend I take him over 100 in it? haha.

Oooooh, I'm tempted.

Have to wait a little while, though, since I'm moving nearer to my new job (Boeing, Seal Beach in California), and I don't know how much parking space I'll have for toys (haven't found a place yet).

But if you're still jammed up, trying to sell, a month or two from now, I'll most likely want it.

So your dad says can't get the C5 until you sell this car? Is he buying it for you?

c5 looks ugly to me. I kind of like the look of the C6 but I'd never buy a corvette.

Think about it though. Hes paying like 8K for me or so. I got like 5k after selling my car. 13K for the car and thats a stick with 350 horse runnin 13.3 in the quarter. Then I throw a procharger on for Christmas and 's thats 550 horse. Im not spoiled, I have to pay it all back, but at least Ill be runing 11's and poor.

So true. The C5's aren't too bad. A million times better than the C4's too.

Good luck with the sale. If I were back in the states I think I would have already bought a plane ticket. Of course my wife would blow a gasket.

Enjoy all the plastic and shoddy build quality. Enjoy all the guys with handlebar mustaches and male pattern baldness at the Corvette Rallys, wearing shiny nylon checkered flag jackets. Enjoy getting your car mixed up with any other C5 in (take your pick) yellow/red/black/silver, and even if you don't you'll see your car coming and going on either side of the interstate. The guy with the plaid rally cap inside will wave at you! Finally, enjoy dragracing with all the mulletts. I've been down that quarter-mile road in a 427, and it's fun for about 13 seconds. In a C5 pulling 550, you're top of the heap amongst the Camaros, Firebirds, and Mustangs. Congratulations.

Don't misunderstand me: I'm not trying to insult you or your future car. Corvettes are nice with lots of hp but be sure you know what you're getting into. Bookmark this thread and visit it in a year.

I looked at a complete 944 turbo build for awhile. I just want to go FAST!! I plan on tracking it, racing it and generally beating the hell out of it. And I dont think a turbo will stand all that abuse.

Just the sorts of things a buyer wants to hear the seller say.

If you drive your car like a grandma that is your deal. The term driven hard and put away wet comes to mind here. I drive my car hard, but I take great care of it. You cant put 200K on a car and treat it poorly. I dont "put it away wet" When I drive the car in the rain I bring it home and chamois it in the garage. These cars were built to be driven at the track on the weekends and serve as a daily driver during the week. This is how I use this car and it has never let me down.

That's not exactly the meaning of "driven hard and put away wet". But kudos to you and your chamois.
