Mike,
I have not gotten your wing back from the paint shop, so if you wish to cancel your order let me know. I can return your money order once I receive it...there is no reason to buy this wing if you are selling your car.
I am trying to make this easy on you...let me know ASAP.

You could also try hitting the outer edge of the broken part with a chisel and slowly turn it. It takes patience but it has worked countless times for me. Once you get a little notch in it for the chisel to grip it, it really starts turning.

But I really do think welding it will work. (In case I didn't mention that!)

I think he's full of crap.
The control arm (threads) is aluminum. The broken bolt is steel. They CAN'T be welded together.
The trick to doing this is to patiently build up a nub on top of the broken bolt until your nub sticks out of the hole. Then you take a large nut, put it over the nub, and weld your nub to it.
If you've achieved good penetration (run with that one, people) it'll back right out.

Apparently when I was at school, my mom talked to some mechanic she knows, he came by checked it out, and told my mom he is 90% sure he can get it out by using a left hand bit or "3 other extractor methods" and will be coming by 7-8am... I didn't give permission for any of this but my mom trusts him and I'll be at work until 9am. Hopefully he doesn't screw it up. If this isn't successful I will decide if I'll take the trailing arm off and bring it to you or scrap the car...

Trailin arm is a cinch to remove, no big deal.
Sell the car because you don't like it.
Sell the car because you want something else.
DO NOT sell the car because you are frustrated with it. You will regret it.. I did. And guess what... after selling mine for a loss, I ended up buyng another 6 months later and started all over again.

I can still come by Sunday morning on my way to Rensselaer. Just let me know one way or the other.
If the drilling is NOT successful - and especially if there is a broken extractor in the broken bolt, welding will no longer be an option...

look mike. Just walk away for a few days. Its not a good idea to make decisions like this when you are emotional. No one understands you're pain more than fellow 951 owners. These cars are brutally expensive.
There is no other car that I know of that you can get in for 5k and spend 5k in maintance/mods the first month of ownership. Its just rediculous. I would tell anyone looking to properly own a 951 needs 15k to really give themselves a cushion and keep the car running regardless of what breaks or needs work.
Just take a few days. You have ALOT of time and money in the car and to walk away now would mean it was all for naught. Let your rennlist breathren help you. Just take a break for awhile. I myself let my car sit for a year because i was tired of messing with it(money is #$%). Now deciding to get back into it and 20 thousand dollers later I hear you man I really do.
Just take a minute and then ask yourself if you are really wiling to let it go.
