Post M030 sway bars

Perry951 has talked me into getting M030 bars for my car! I have looked around a bit and can't locate what I would say is a good deal! I remember seeing in the past sets going for around $300. Paragon seems to have the best price on the set for $417/set. This is just more than I want to pay.

Does anyone know of a place to get the set cheaper or has a set that they want to sell?

Thanks,

Jason

Check with dismantlers, like Ian's and Oklahoma Foreign. I lucked out and got 968 M030's from someone over at pelican that was selling theirs (they went to weltmeisters instead).

Tifosiman...If you don't mind me asking, how much outlay did you have on them?

Rear was $150, front was $100. Both included the bushings. Then I had to buy the mounting hardware for the rear from Ian's Europarts for $40 (since my car didn't have a rear sway originally) Total outlay was $290. Took about 2 hours for installation total for both on a rainy Saturday morning in my garage.

Just been calling the junkers this morning. Most of them have waiting lists and are quoting $250 for the set, which is very reasonable. I can't even imagine what dealer price is... <img src="graemlins/c.gif" border="0" alt="[ouch]" />

What are the measurements of the bars? I have a 16mm bar in the rear of my S2 (stock size), and I'm looking for either a 20mm or a 22mm. Are the M030's this size?

My front 27mm bar is fine: I'm looking for a bigger rear sway bar in order to tame some of that understeer.

I've heard the Weltmeisters are much heavier.

Rear 968 M030 bars are 3-way adjustable and 19mm. Very stiff in the stiffest setting..........

I steered the guy to paragon so that he could buy a few of these sets to sell to some suckers!!!!!

You don't know the half of it. Do an archive search for AutoAtlanta to see what I mean.

The front bar alone usually sells for that much [Edit: at the overpriced places]. Try Sunset Imports in Beverton, OR or Hendrick Porsche in Charlotte. Both offer very good prices. I got a 30mm front bar a few weeks ago from sunset imports for around $220 including all the bushings. This was the cheapest I found anywhere.

Question

Jason,

Does your 924S already have a rear sway bar? If not, remember to order the rear sway bar mounting kit.....(don't want ya to get frustrated when you get your new parts and have to wait to install them).
