hahah, I'm partial to Miatas; I've seen what they can do at the track (auto cross), they are light and easy to maneuver, good after market support; but it just seems that "queery" type of guys usually drive them on the street that's all; I can say the same about Boxster and Z3; kind of sad to stereotype car's owners like that, but not much one can do

I think these cars kick ***; small, with decent -> good power; RWD and a 5/6spd ? sign me up!

I would care less as to what people view me as; it's my car, I don't buy it for other people or for their opinions

Indeed it is. I keep telling my wife that I'm going to grow my mullet back out, but in order to be allowed to do that I'll have to sell the Porsche and buy a Camaro.

Unfortunately, she's not as amused about that plan...

Porscshe owners too, my friend. We have that stereotype as well.

Of course, one could argue that it doesn't apply to us 944/951 guys since they aren't real Porsches...

There are plenty of hardtops available for the S2000.

Honda makes one as well as spoon, mugen, amuse, mooncraft, seibon, and others that I can't think of off the top of my head.

I dunno... I really wanted a third-gen Camero...

Hell, I really don't care if my car is gay or straight, so long as it drives well! I figure the car's sexual preference isn't any of my business. (Well, actually, I lied... I do want my car straight, but that's really just to make alignments easier!) Unfortunately, I'm not really interested in a big Miata... Just seems like adding dead weight.

find somethign around $2500 in decent shape, call a miata race shop for the $1300 SM suspension, order hard dog roll bar, order mazdacomp LSD... under $5k for a lot of fun! (and it handles WAY better than ANY 944)

Spend $1,300 on 944 suspension and it'll run with a Miata all gay long. I mean all day long.

Yeah, but how will your typical $2.5k 944 compare to your typical $2.5k Miata? Odds are the 944 will need more work done to it...
