Default Injector Kit Mismatch (Solved, 2 ways, pics)

Am just about finished doing a TB/WP/BS seal job on our 944.

Had pulled intake because I had a squalling sound and figured I would need to pull the balance shafts and replace bearings. Didn't, but that's another story.

Went to refresh injector seals. Kit don't fit. Checked archives here and my take is that this mismatch problem has been going on for years where people buy kits for cars with original injectors and the kits don't fit. I don't have an answer, just bitching a bit. Boxed up the mess and sent it to Witch Hunter --- reports are that they can get the right kits, let them do it!

That said, if anybody has already found the right kit, please post part number somwhere here for others who follow behind us...... Thx.

BTW, Part number I used (maybe wrongly) is 944-110-901-00 which coresponds to Bosch Kit 1-287-010-704

Advice appreciated!!!

Chris, sounds like you found my old thread! Yeah, been an issue for a while. I am pretty sure that the ones 944online.com sells are correct. There are a few others that sell the right ones I just cannot think of em right now.

Doug, I did find it in the search!

I went to one of our sponsors, then also the Porsche dealer here in Richmond, plus Bap-Geon. All list the part number above. So did PET and tech book. I bought from the sponsor, plus another set from Bap-Geon.

Interesting. So, Dillon, are you implying I should search-out and use the 928 part instead? Am confused.

You did the right thing, witchhunter do a lot more than just change the seals. Your injectors will be cleaned, balanced and will look and perform like new. They are just one of those aftermarket vendors that offer an excellent service. (no affiliation - just a very happy customer).

Thanks, Gina, sounds like Witch Hunter will work for me. Having issues with my #1 cylinder and need to give every advantage to it charging and firing well. (Also have 3 braided SS-covered fuel lines coming from Lart. I may burn in hell for one reason or another, but I'm not going in the car that way)

Still, for a quick injector reseal job, there must be a kit with proper O-rings and short pintle caps.

Anybody have that Bosch part number, for the record at least?

Chris,
I have been looking for an alternative part number for the seal kit.
Everyone seems to sell the same kit as I do.
Finding the correct part number would be really good - anyone?

Bump...

Anybody got the RIGHT Bosch number for the short pintle-cap containing kit with O-rings.

Believe me, guys, we get him the part number and ROG100 has the business connections to solve our availability problems forever!

Also, you can go to your local auto parts store and pick up the correct Borg Warner injector reseal kits. They are commonly used and about $3 an injector. I don't have the BW part # in front of me, but I have posted it before. They should be able to look it up at the parts store.

Its the pintle caps that are the difficult things.

Although, on second review, the spacer is too thick and the rubber seals look too thin and too large dia. And, the seals are rubber, clearly not upgraded to viton.

FWIW, I had the same experience; my new kit looks just like yours and the ones that came off look identical as well. I just put them on there and let 'em rip, though. Mark actually reinstalled the fuel rail, so I don't know how they actually went into the car, but I worked on the injectors themselves. Car seems to be running leak-free right now.

The bosch kits tend to leak. Like Doc says, use the BW ones. They have blue caps and they are shorter than the bosch ones. Those are the ones we sell because they fit everything and do not leak.

Travis, you have THE answer. http://www.rennbay.com/fuel-injector...-all-p-60.html Thank you. I wasn't willing to accept that the right Bosch kit didn't exist, but I'm there now. Borg Warner. Blue caps. From you at Rennbay. Got it. Thanks also to you, Doc.

Meanwhile, Witch Hunter has returned mine cleaned ( total 8 days VA to WA and back to VA), with what appear to be very proper seals (not blue, but very proper). Glad they're clean, but was really after the seals !!

Do they give you back flow numbers or anything like that after cleaning? How dirty were they inside?
