I called my dealer in RI they said there were no open campains on the car,so Porsche would do nothing about replacement. They never really said if it had been fixed on my car.I guess Ill inspect it this weekend and may ill order a SS set and install just to be safe! <img src="graemlins/bigok.gif" border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" />

I just cut off the crimp and installed a high pressure fuel injection hose with hose clamps on the small line and SFR braided hoses on the other.
Still great after a 1.5 years
This is just one way to fix the problem

I just called and found out that the hose recall (porsche campaign AK02) has not been done on my car, doh!, looks like a trip to the dealer service dept is in order, my first.
They also mentioned an A-arm inspect replace/ recall (campaign AK03). He didn't give me any details, but this could help when my next a-arm goes, we'll see...
Maybe they will just give me the part and I can be on my way, but I doubt it's that simple.

Txhedg (sp?) posted a pic of some that he made from paragonperf raw materials, search for his user # or fuel in the subject either on this or the turbo board, can't remember.
Paragonperf. would be another option if you felt creative and wanted to make lines vs. gettings sfr's. Price would not be much different. I think the best way would be to measure the o.d. of the lines you want to replace, try to get the same size/length from their hose page, then get 4 hose clamps in the correct sizes from them and slap it all together. I am just not sure of the I.D. on their hoses to make sure that they would fit the crimp connector male ends that you liberate when you cut the stock lines off. I will prolly end up with sfr lines but I may add some of the fire sleeving material from paragonperf. just for overkill.
Also, I just got back from the dealer and picking up some parts, I talked to the service guy and he was very nice about setting up the fuel line recall, I thought he may not know what a 951 is, some don't. I feel like I am cheating on my ind. mechanic...but I am glad to have some free service! It will be interesting to see what he says about the control arm issue....

Good memory jason. here are the only pics I have, as I sold the car a month ago. Sorry they don't show the lines any better. John Joseph (he posts here and on the 2Robs Board) from Atl has the car now, and may be able to get you better pics, except I think he is out of the country for a month or two right now.
The SS lines from Paragon are top quality. I ordered several different SS lines from various vendors, and the Paragon seemed the best, at a good price. Less $ and same quality as Longacre, much better than the quality I got from Jegs. For the size you need (-06) I think it is only about $8.50 per foot (you'll need 3 or 4 feet max). Much cheaper than SFR (although I do support Turbo Tim / SFR and think the stuff he sells is very good).
I think the firebraid install over the SS lines is a good, cheap adder to to help protect the fuel lines from heat (cooler fuel = more hp), fire, and leaks (firebraid acts to funnell a potential leak away from the exhaust headers) Paragon's prices on firebraid was very good as well. IMHO its a no-brainer for track cars, and not a bad idea for street cars also. Just one more step to try to avoid a catastrophic fire.
As far as connections, I bought some high quality ratchet hose clamps. Gator brand, I believe. They are like $0.50 ea. I think there was enough space on the connections to use 2 clamps on each connections (there are four connections in all, damper, fpr, fuel supply hard line, and fuel return hard line.
All in, it was a very cheap, easy to DIY upgrade.

I don't believe the standard aero connectors will work, but I'm not 100% certain. I originally wanted to do a bit more "asthetic" a connection rather than the std hose clamp to the damper and from the fpr. You can buy hose clamp covers that "look" like those aero connections. they are basically just screw-tighten hose clamps with aluminum cover. They have a bunch of them at Jegs (I think it is just <a href="http://www.jegs.com)." target="_blank">www.jegs.com).</a> I felt that for a track car I would rather have two higher clamps than one lower pressure "pretty" connection. It was probably overkill, though

i hadn't even been thinking about my fuel hoses since my records show they were replaced a few years ago. but then i noticed over the weekend that that short smaller hose is in awful shape... looks like it should have burst ages ago. however, unlike the picture in PET, mine is a solid metal hose where it attaches to the dampner and then it turns into a rubber hose right under the fuel rail. is this the "updated" one that solves the recall?
it seemed like some of you were talking about just using a piece of high pressure fuel hose to replace this... but it looks like it needs a threaded fitting at each end? are you somehow attaching a new chunk of hose to the old threaded fittings and then screwing them in?
am i correct in that the braided stainless lines that everyone gets do not include a replacement for this particular hose?

I do not think the short hose is included in the kits sold by the various vendors. I don't see why you couldn't cut off the compression fittings and clamp on a new piece of hose. However, the OEM piece is formed with a 90 degree curve in it. So I elected to replace that hose with a original OEM piece. I did use regular fuel inj. hose for the other two longer sections to/from the FPR & damper. The short hose was the subject of the recall.

I ordered all three hoses from speedforce racing - $130 shipped. Includes 2 long hoses and one short. As far as I know it involves cutting off the metal parts of your other hoses.

i just got off the phone with sunset imports... they quoted $33.88 + 15% for that part number... but i had the guy go in the back and look at it, and it is an all rubber hose, just like the picture in PET. However, my hose has a solid metal part under the fuel rail and then a rubber part above... just like the one in the picture at the start of this thread. It does have that 944.110.413.02 part number visible on the rubber section, though.
those of you who have replaced this hose, what did you old and new ones look like? am i the only one in the world with a solid metal fuel hose here? did your replacement parts have a solid section?

do you race guys use any kind of sealant on these threaded fittings? i guess teflon is fuel-compatible, right? or is the tapered thread supposed to seal ok by itself?

well i just got the new hose in, and it looks exactly the same as my old one, minus all the cracks and the big, soft, bulge at the end.
so either the guy at sunset imports who i talked to is an idiot or they really do have an all rubber version of this part number there (i ended up ordering it for $20 more from sonnen because i wanted the next day delivery for the cost of normal ups ground).
any tips for putting it in? should i use teflon tape on the threads? is there a torque spec for those connectors?
