Post Bad Owner, GREAT Car!

Autothority is on my way home and sometimes I stop in there to drool over the plethora of beautiful P-cars they regularly have in the lot.

I pulled in yesterday and saw a GORGEOUS bone stock guards red 1986 944. The car looked showroom new. Paint was immaculate, interior was absolutely perfect (sport seat bolsters showed no wear!).
The 16' Fuchs looked like they were literally brand new. I couldn't beleive it!

My 1987 is in very good shape and it's very rare for me to see another in as good or better shape around here.

Regardless, I'm drooling all over it when the owner comes out. He sees mine and we start talking.
5 minutes or so into the conversation I ask him how many miles - 62,000 (he says he's never seen lower mileage 944 - I tell mine has 43K - he looks pissed ).

I mentioned how great the Fuchs look to him and he says "Fuchs?" with a blank look. I said - "The wheels - they're rare." "Oh these things - I think they're hideous. I'm getting Chrome 5-stars." I told him when he wanted to I'd be glad to give him a few hundred for them and gave him my number.

I ask him how it runs, and here's the kicker -

"Oh it runs great! These Flat-6's have a lot of torque!"

I said "Yeah...They sure do....Have a nice night."

Think he's ever even opened the hood?

I guess some people throw money at their car. This is an example when you throw money at anything, it can look beautiful and perfect. Nowadays, this principle applies to people also in the age of silicone lipo suction, face lifts, and butt implants.

Flat-6?
Everybody knows that Porsche only puts flat engines behind the driver, our front engines are V-6s.

I guess the other two cylinders are under the motor. Ya thats it. At least he was driving it, and it wasn't rotting in the garage.

If it was me in your position, i would have set him straight, that is, after i stopped laughing in his face.

I can't stand people who drive NICE cars (especailly P cars)and kno nothing about them.

They should be "forced to drive nothing but Hyundais!" -Slinky

Cheers,
Ryan
