Default Audi 1.8T 20V into 944?

My friend gave me a Audi 1.8T 20V engine and so what does a euro hot rodder do? try to fit it in a 944? I was thinking of putting in the 944 because it is lighter and 350 hp can be had easily (for us). Having the boys pull a bellhousing off now to see how we have to make an adapter plate.

comments?

I think this is better than the Nissan SR20DET I was planning to swap in! at least it keeps it German! BTW I mod ricers for a living. but I prefer German cars better!

Damn right. Half of the parts on these cars are Audi anyway.

I have gotten 425hp from a 1.8L 8V VW GTi Turbo Engine and 550hp from a VW 1.8L-16V Turbo engne. These are reliable hp figures. I am afraid to mod the Porsche 2.5L engine due to the high cost of the parts. plus the swap will give me a lot more room in the engine compartment.

I want something that is reliable and if I do blow it up I don't feel so bad.

ha ha ha

I have modded 944 Turbos in the past and just knowing the reliablity factor I am not comfortable.

Sweet. Keep us updated on the swap and when you're done, I'd love to check it out!
