Default Q's about Koni 3012 rear coilovers

Ok so i finally bit the bullet and im replacing my QA1 rear coilovers w/ some 3012 Koni's- new 525lb springs. My old coilovers are already sold.BTW. Ive been waiting to receive my springs still that are being drop shipped from somewhere, and just now opened them up to look at the shock bodies themselves. One has a bearing on the top/bottom that is about 2" wide- and im guessing this end goes up to the upper shock mount. The other though only has a very shallow bearing- guessing that one or the other is a mistake. Ive contacted paragon who has nothing to do w/ this mixup since these were dropshipped as well - but my Q is - which do i need? im guessing the 2" wide bearing since that would fit up into the shock mount? This would place the larger side of the shock up. Now im not sure if that is correct either. ALSO- there is no obvious adjustments on these even though they say "adjustable" on the box. There is a star or alan head screw at the bottom of the body- maybe this is the adjustment? I want to put these on and not mess w/ them so any advise to setting these up would be great- especially since my old ones will be long gone once i remove them. They came w/ no directions what-so-ever and even worse no stickers!

Whoa man... Why did you buy those?? You know they won't work on your car, right?
They were made only for white 86 n/a.

Sorry... but you can just cut your losses, and send them to me... I won't mind taking them off your hands. And don't worry I wont tell anyone...

Please keep us informed as to how you like them over your old ones. I've always been a Bilstein man myself but always keep my mind open.

Not trying to hijack, but, are 3012's a decent street option (those of you who've run them before)? I've considered having my Turbo S fronts rebuilt & made DBL Adj, but would need to select something to run for the rear. I'm leaning towards Bilstein Firehawks- much cheaper, but 3012's are really tempting. My main concern is having a nice, firm (but not harsh) ride quality- will probably leep my 275lb springs & do not want rear springs- have 28mm hollow T-bars. I'm not sure running those 3012 rears w/out helpers would be such a good idea. Any suggestions or input here from those w/experience on thise shocks? Dan, are your intentions on these shocks to be street or track or both? Please let us know your results when you get some seat time w/them...

Hey Dan,

Did the 2 bushings for the upper mount come from Koni as well or from Paragon? I've got a set of koni coilovers that have been laying the the garage waiting to be installed, but I need to source the upper bushings as those are missing.
