Default Help me understand why

Why would anyone let their car look like this? Any car? No less a car that is the same as mine that I keep in prestine condition. The ironic part is he drives this everyday and never breaksdown. I seen this car for the first time five years ago when I moved to the area and I have a hard time looking directly at it when I drive past it. I have had mine 4 months and it is out of commission again. I blow a radiator hose yesterday on the way home from work and over heated. I ordered all new hoses from Pelican today and that will be another week my car is not running.

He lives in a trailer and can't afford a paint job or a new wheel maybe? If he has bumper stickers, no excuse for that though.

Maybe he bought it then got down on his luck but loves it too much to sell. Or perhaps he was already poor, and bought it broken and fixed it himself because he's always had a thing for them.

I see bumperstickers as a sin.

you've had it 4 months and keep it in pristine condition, stop back in 2 years with an update/pics to confirm yours is still pristine.

instead of whining and complaining about the guy, talk to him as it sounds like he's doing something right.

Could very well be my old NA....it was not pretty but it ran like a top.

If it was mine...then what you see is where the previous owner had wacked a gardrail pretty hard...and I did a really ugly repair job as a stop-gap to the rear quarter replacement....then I sold the car and picked up my S2. If you had a better picture (or a pic of the interior) I could be sure.

In any case...if you know the guy, why not make friends and help him shape the car up!

Could be he's just superstitious; remember, his car doesn't break down. Some people are breakdown maintenance types; others are preventative types. The only difference between the two is the latter has an empty bank account.

well mine breaks down a lot to so dont feel bad. As for the guy with the crappy paint and ugly spare...hes still driving...lol

It not always about looks. Who knows...the next time you ride buy he may have a shiny new paint job and a set of cup whels on it, because he spent his money on the important stuff first
