I would use it as a test case and then swap it all over.

Depending on your desired boost level you may also want to use the engine and pick up some turbo pistons and rods then you will be good for some big HP that isn't boost limited. .

Anyways, if you need a hand sometime wrenching, I am normally around on the weekends unless I am out on a job (I travel a lot for work). My car is 2.5+ hours away, so it's hard for me to head down to my parents to work on it sometimes. Normally costs me around $100+ on gas just for a day or two of working on the car.

Still glad to hear it went to someone here on Rennlist! Good luck with it. Have you dug into the transmission at all? To see what the issue is with that? Hopefully that's a quick fix.

Again, good luck!

Yeah he was a really sketchy dude. He answered every time I called though.

What part of Orlando do you live in? I live up in Longwood. Any time you are in the area and want to swing by you're more than welcome to!

So today I was fiddling with the shift linkage and everything works fine. The transmission itself is stuck in first gear though. I have never heard of this problem, and Im not sure how to fix it? So far the only thing Ive tried is brutally banging the shifter back but it doesnt want to budge.

Well, my goal is right around 10 psi, if I can get there I'll be happy. So, I'm pretty sure with that much boost I'll be safe on the stock internals. There is a guy here in O-town who is running 11-12psi on a stock block, head, headgasket, etc.

BTW, when I was considering the idea of supercharging my car, I came across your thread and the videos and that just made my final decision. The next week I went junkyard hunting and found an Eaton M90 for 200 bucks. My setup is going to be slightly different from yours though, I'm going to try to copy this local guy's setup so he can help me tune the car. Very nice project of yours though, it has kept me excited about mine for the last few months!

So, so far I think Im probably going to use the white car to build the bracket and possibly test out the whole kit before I swap it over to the red car.

what other projects should i possibly consider testing out on the white car for final use on the red car?

Keep in mind my budget is not unlimited.

RACE IT.
Race cars don't need interiors.

haha

I'd love to, and eventually I will get into some real racing, but due to the current economy BS going on and everything, I just cant afford to race even my current 944. In a couple years it will be out at Sebring and Daytona every month though!!

Wait you have the money to supercharge it, but not enough to track it?

Heck strip it, make it run (ie motor won't blow up, gbox works), put some stock seats back in with stock belts and drive on the track.

no parting out
if it runs great, hold out and fix it or use it for S/C (and after you are done, STILL fix it)

it just looks soooooooooo nice! or sell it?

Definitely aftermarket. Whether or not you like it is up to you. quite frankly, I like having my license plate where Porsche intended it to be.

Use it for the S/C bracket then do what you want with it! You could make it a Spec car and have your other car in a higher class if you want to club race.

Default stuck in gear

Is it possible the clutch is broken in some way as to prevent you from getting it out of gear?
