Just have to vent
Either my S2 hates the warm weather, or it happens to be its time.
1.)Replaced power steering pump. Leaving 1-2 foot diameter puddles in garage. No big deal, its the original.
2.)Cam tensioner pad goes, new cams needed. Lots of fun.
3.)A/C goes bad. Replaced condensor, then went and had it recharged(by a professional) Its been hot up here in the northeast the past couple weeks, sort of need it.
4.)Now the fuel pump goes. Leaves me stranded AT work, instead of at home. I thought I replaced the fuel filter early enough that it wouldn't be an issue. Just its time to go? I'm certain its the original and it just ticked over to 100k.
I guess thats goes to show whats needed on a daily driver 944. It's a good thing I really like this car. Sorry, just needed a place to put all this down. No one wants to hear the ramblings of a 944 owner, other than 944 owners. Anyone else ever have all these happen in one month? Shes been going great for the past 5 years. I guess I'm lucky I went that long on just oil changes and fuel/air filters. Okay, enough said. Carry on everyone.

it happens with these old cars...so far I've been really lucky (considering the condition of my car when I bought it) and only had trouble once - the clutch died in the boonies of NH and I had to "limp" it home ~80 miles...
other than that, calling everything you do a "cool upgrade" does help justify things. I don't know when your belts were last done, but if you're worried about which "cool upgrade" to do next, if its been a while, belts/rollers might be a good candidate

I just keep reminding myself how much a car payment would be to drive a car as fun as a 944/951. Just spoke to a friend he owns a 2005 BMW at 60 km he spent $3k on service. These old cars will definitey press your patience. My ac compressor just froze up, 3 days after completing a dash swap.

that's not really too bad. These are obviously old cars especially the earlier 944s like mine so I expect things to break.
i also tend to replace things when I have the money before they break. Any moving parts on the car will eventually break and most 944s are 15-20 years old now so what do you expect.
only downside is that with a 944 parts cost much more than the typical american or jap car. you can't get 50 dollar waterpumps and 70 dollar powersteering pumps for your 944.
