Were all '88 Turbo S Silver Rose?
Found one that's red with a "tan" interior and the guy swears it's a '88 Turbo S.

it might be... not all turbo S were silver rose... only the cool kids have those these days though... The thing that strikes me as odd... "24 MPG"
I'll raise the BS flag on that one... I get 18 when I keep my foot out of the throttle... Open highway with cruise, it'll get 30. but I never see it unless I'm on a trip.

The car is probably legit.
there was a whole pissin contest here a few months back about the S and the silver rose etc. the silver rose cars look like the one in Geoff's signature. Then there are the 951s with the S option package, which are the 951S cars.
so in summary there are 1988 951S Silver Rose cars, and there are 951S cars. Then for 89 all hell breaks loose and the 1988 951S is called the 951, and the 951 is morphed into the S2.
Those krazykrauts.

There ya go, production numbers of all 88 turbo "S" cars and the colors. We had a 88 S come in that was Burgandy with a Linen interior(This was when I was working at Barrier in '05)

Thanks for the clarification guys.
Was already aware of the '89 switch/confusion and I asked the guy if he was sure it was an '88 and not an '89.
I'm going to go have a look at it this week. Seems like a pretty good deal if he's straight up.
