944Fest '03 July 6th 2003
All of this snow and cold has me dreaming of the warm summer ahead, and I'm starting to formulate plans for 944fest 03. July 6th, 2003. Here's what I'm thinking. Once again, the location will be Mansfield, OH. I'm 1/2 way between Cleveland and Columbus off 71. For grubs, I plan to have fresh seafood trucked in from Martha's Vineyard (on a 944 trailer, no less!), we'll have a clambake with other goodies too. I'm running out of ideas for a good photo shoot location, so I plan to make a video this time. I've been wanting one of those "lipstick" cams that film suspensions at work, fender shots, bumper cams, etc.. I'm not sure what I can come up with for "hot" shots, but we'll work on it. All the cars at the Fest will be stars in the film. I'll have track footage and other misc 944 clips to mix in. When I'm done, it will be 4 or 5 minutes (30?? We'll see!) of prime 944 vid, mixed with some jamming tunes, to keep you warm thru winter of 03 and beyond. Free for the download, of course.
ALSO, Chaperoned Cooper S test drives may be available, along with round 2 of the Lawnmower off road autocross!
Anyone interested?
I suppose if Rennlist wants to be a sponsor, they could have a plug at the start of the vid..
Keep your eyes here on Rennlist for updates as the thaw arrives.
FWIW: This event is scheduled for the weekend prior to the NOR PCA Drivers Ed at Mid Ohio. Participants are encouraged to participate in the DE and extend the party into the second weekend.
Mark your schedules.. I hope to see you there!

Dan, how's it going? Thanks again for the radio manual. It's great to hear your planning 944Fest '03. I know the last time you talked about it, you were unsure of the next time.
I don't plan to travel half way around the country to buy another Porsche this 4th of July weekend (gosh that was gruelling), so I would like to be the first to pencil in a spot.
Your plans sound great. I'm sure everybody really appreciates all of the effort that you put into this event. Now I just hope that my car will be in the pictures this year unlike the last two years of me not being able to come.
Looking forward to it...

Dan,
Are you thinking of a firm date yet? If I'm not on my way to sunny GA at that point, then I'm in! I'm also positive that I can talk Jerad into racing, err I mean following me over to OH

Dan,
I;m in, I'll caravan up with fellow Dayton and Cinci guys. After going thru all of my old archived emails after my job change, I just realized I owe you some money for the video! How much and where do I send it? Email me at jeremy.mudd@huffy.com.
Tifo
PS: I'm sure it's good, I haven't had time to watch it yet.

I'll caravan too if you guys want to pick me up in Columbus. I just hope it works out with the SCCA schedule this year.

I'm kinda new to the whole Porsche (meets) scene, Been to one PCA meeting at the dealer I used to work at and was wondering what the cover/entry charge is and who is allowed. I'm from Cincinnati and if the 944 is finnished (it's never done but built for this season's cuisin')I'll bring it. <img src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" border="0" alt="[bigbye]" />
