It's mostly at the rear end. There's a little less then an inch difference left to right when I measure a few of the chassis points. It’s really unnoticeable in all ways to anyone, except for my fanatical radar vision. I still don’t know how it happened…

John, so it was the previous owner you think?

Tom, I can see a ripple in the hatch area as well (if you remove the carpet), I really think this is more than a simple suspension issue.

Sam, hopefully...everything will be alright...we shall see after the estimate tomorow.

Everybody, I'm gonna have to prove the value of the car to insurance I imagine. Thats what everybody else on here seems to have had to do anyway. So, how do I go about doing this? I was thinking show them receipts for work done and the Excellence value guide?? Will that be enough? Has anybody needed a PCA evaluation?

Initial estimate was $3000, I imagine it'll be a bit higher when its all said and done.

But this is great news, insurance will cover it no problem...I was worried about a $10,000 repair bill.

Thanks for the shop recommendation Raj!

Either it didn't hit hard as I thought it did..or man...these cars are solid!

Damn, I missed alot lately!!
Adrial, I'm glad you guys are OK! Sorry to hear about the car. Glad it will be put back together. I just brought mine home and this doesn't make me feel any better, if you've noticed it's raining out, so of course, I had to drive it home on shaved V700s. I had the shop mount the AX tires on the rims while they had the car and I figured I could heat cycle them on the way home, so I took home the snow tires the car went there on! Talk about slippery! That car isn't moving 'til I get the Fuchs back on it!

Zoltan, Whoever ends up repairing the car will have 3-4 weeks to get it ready for Pocono I imagine...so I donno if it'll be ready...I hope so! Can we can still cancel?? I'll get in touch with them.

Dave, good to see you finally got your car back! So you're good to go for the dyno day? I'm happy to find out that my car will be repaired, hopefully back to the same condition it was in before (or better... )

On a side note...I ordered some tires today! Yokohama ES100's. I only ordered the rears, the fronts wont be available till 7/1 says tirerack. Nobody else even had the rears in stock.

Does anybody know how a frame machine works? Do you mount the car to it and then the operator tells it where to bend what? Or do you put it on there and say "Fix it!" and the machine does its thing?

Adrial, glad to hear the damage was not too bad. Bill is a good guy and will whatever he can to accomodate you. He has worked on some pretty high end cars himself. He has been doing some work on a Z8 recently.
Let me know if I can be of any help as well.

Raj, I'll be back there wensday of next week I think. He's gonna put it on the frame machine and see if its bent and how much. I'm gonna drop off the car and leave it for a few days.

Have you seen any of his frame repair work?
The more I read of how good he is the more comfortable I can be!

I think I have another guy for the dyno, so if we add Adrial back on and Dave we may be ok. Nice to have Dave mobile again, and Adrial looking better than we feared.

Adrial, glad to hear things are working out. It would be great if you could still make Pocono.

I try to pretend it's just a figment of my imagination. Car runs great.

Adrial, put it this way. I am parting a 968 out and it was his call to part it as he felt that it was not worth saving it. He would have made a hell lot more money repairing it than just sending me back home with the car but he told me the truth.
I was willing to spend upwards of $4-5k to fix the car but he told me to just part it out. We can all use the money but what makes some of us different is honesty.
He is very very capable and has been in the industry for a long time. He was an insurance appraiser before JMK, so he knows both ends and would never put his reputation on the line.
If he feels like he cannot do it, he will tell you staright out. He is a straight shooter and the best part, his prices are reasonable.

Adrial:
Get in touch with Novack regarding Pocono: let him know of your situation ASAP.

He's flexible and will work with you if you need to cancel, I'm sure.

Dave:
Welcome back to the fold! Autox has been lonely without you! Ya know, if Adrial can't make Pocono, perhaps Novack can squeeze you in!!

Damian, I'm not quite sure if I'll be in or not...I hope so. What's the email address of the guy you know thats interested? If we include him and Dave, thats 10 and we're good to go.

Raj, OK, that should hold me over. thanks

Zoltan, Well I'm not really sure I want to cancel just yet, I'm not sure if the car will be ready or not. Hmm I guess I'll email him now and tell him I'll let him know next week if I'll be good to go or not.

Dave, you've got mail. Are you in or out on the dyno day?
