When I bought my 944 Turbo I got the key with the light in it but no battery in it. What fits the keys? Like model number or anything???

Like a hearing aid battery; ask a Porsche dealer, for the parts department, and ask them. Mine's dead too, just can't remember.

First, become a Rennlist member.

Second, why don't you just do the LED "mod" for your key? It's easy as pie and since have to buy a new battery anyway...

I have a blue LED in mine, it's cool. Wows folks. And of course, that's the only reason why we buy these cars, right?

LED key Mod is easy (about 20 minutes..) cheap ( I gutted a freebee LED keychain I already had) And is 1000% brighter- and the pushbuttton even works better.
You have a wide choice of colors (mine is Red- go figger!), and is many times brighter than the old bulb.
Hey Mike-- If you really want the old stuff- Purchased from Porsche about a year ago. I didnt use my lighted key- just my spare key until it was "Light Modded".
e-mail me, I have a brand new bulb, battery and spring clip - the stuff I took out and will never use. (man, you must be a PURIST!)

ps. I have NO idea why i saved that stuff either- I guess I just cant stand to throw good parts away, even tho I'll never use them..

Ok, so I will do the LED light, but is there a site or anything that says how to do it? Also, do I use the key I have now or do I have to buy another one or what??? Let me know.

The battery is a 1.5V 190mAh "Photo Alkaline" Radio Shack 23-465 or EPX625BP, V625U, KX625 or LR9.

My key came with no bulb, no battery, and no Porsche crest.
I bought a second key (it's good to have two), did the led conversion on the crested key, and moved the light to the spare.
The LED is much brighter, and will probably last longer, due to the greater efficiency of LEDs. (And the "bulb" will never burn out).
