Post OT Miami - Denver to sell car. Best route?

Guys,

I'm still not sure I'm going to do this, but it's looking like I'll be selling my S2 cabrio to a buyer in Denver, Colorado.

Yes, my car is presently 2,100 miles away, in South Florida. I'm taking it in for a prepurchase inspection tomorrow and depending on whether the buyer confirms their offer afterwards, it's pretty likely that I'll accept it and sell them the car.

The catch is that I'm taking it all the way to Denver myself. Ha. I always find excuses to drive my cars as it is, so here's a real excuse: $14,500.

In any case, if I don't sell the car, I'm still driving it a considerable distance to Newark, where it will ship to Europe and become a "family car" for my parents. I wonder how many guys give their parents a Porsche

Looking at the map, on the interstate system I come up with the following routes:

A) Orlando-Atlanta-Chattanooga-Nashville-St. Louis-Kansas City-Denver

B) Orlando-Tallahassee-Mobile-New Orleans-Shreveport-Dallas-Oklahoma City-Salina,(KS)-Denver

C) If I don't sell, I'll take the standard straight shot north on I-95: Jacksonville-Savannah-SC-Raleigh-Richmond-DC-Baltimore-Newark.

I plan on heading out around 3 or 4 pm tomorrow (11/21). If anyone cares to meet up along either way or cruise together a few miles to get me through your area you can call E-mail me at ldep@earthlink.net or call my cell 1-(787)-501-6476, but bear in mind that I won't know which way I'm headed until the buyer confirms after the inspection.

Any recommendations? Suggested layover points?

TIA

Hey, thanks.

Unfortunately, mapquest doesn't tell me where other Rennlist folks are, which is also why I'm asking here.

I'm in Denver, so if you don't end up selling it you can give her to me and fly back

Well the route I was going to tell you would have been longer and different than the ones you came up with. Thinking driving experience would be the motivator.

However........

>>Orlando-Atlanta-Chattanooga-Nashville-St. Louis-Kansas City-Denver<<

Gives you a real opportunity.

Nashville, St Louis, Kansas City give you the three battling champions of BBQ. there won't be a better tasting route around.

Takes you through some pretty countryside too.

If you go straight north from Atlanta and run up the smokey Mountains you'll get a helluva ride, then if you turn left you can stop over at Dollywood before heading to Nashville. Out of the way, but some beautiful Mountains.

Well the Smokey mountains are beautiful too....

If you go through St. Louis, let me know. We'll get together and I'll buy you a few beers.

Thanks for the responses. I guess the northwestern route will be the one to take. I was just concerned about the colder weather.

I'd better get some rest now...

If you come this way, I'm 15-20 miles west of Newark.

Luis,

I've traveled that route many times and found that the choice "A" is best. Since the highways are pretty well maintained, even in bad weather they are for the most part passable.

Once you get into Kansas however the weather can change by the minute!
