how to take off 951 rear main engine seal
My directions did not come with this part of doing the clutch job. Does anyone have step by step insturction or at least a general idea how to do it?
Thanks <img src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" border="0" alt="[bigbye]" />

There is a notch on the block where you can get a flat blade onto the side of the seal, but it does not always work.
Take a small flat blade screwdriver and punch it into the seal. (careful not to scrape the block or the crank) Pry that baby out, clean the area, and install the new one flat and square with the block.

Mark,,if you have a farming supply or pump supply store anywhere around you, go and try to find a "packing puller". It is a flexible T-handle tool with a small cork screw end on it. It will bite into the rear main seal in the middle and you can work it out. Take the rear main seal to the local hardware store, find a PVC union that mates up close(3"?), use a pc of 2X4 on top of that, to tap your seal in level.

I replaced my rear seal to cure a leak, and it turned out that it was leaking around the OD of the seal. I need to do it again now. Is there any sealer that is used around the seal?
