Just curious if you take off as soon as you turn the key? Or do you sit for 3-6 mins for a warmup then go?

When it's warm out, start it and go easy on it for 10 min. or so.

Porsche does not recommend letting the car idle.

The recommend procedure is to start the car, drive off and (as Paul said) take it easy until everything has warmed up.

bear in mind it takes 3-4 times longer for your oil to warm up than for your water! My previous car had an oil temp. gauge and would need to be driven for about 5-10 miles before it would be at operating temperature!

I suppose Porsche do not recommend to let the car idle for too long as it damages the cat.

Considering when I get in the car in the morning I have about 10 minutes to get to school, a trip that usually takes 8 if traffic is good, I get in and go. I won't run it above 3 and a half or so until the engine temp is normal though.

Letting a car idle first thing isn't good for ANY car. If it's cold, let it idle for 15-20 seconds or so (to be sure the motor oil is moving and has gotten to all the parts), then drive away casually. The car must warm up as a whole, not just the motor. With casual driving, usually once the motor oil is warmed up, everything else is too.

And actually the car warms up much faster (oil and water) if your driving. Takes forever if your idling.

I just drive off normally until the oil temp reaches 2.5 to 3 bars. Then I shift at higher RPM.

I start it up, let it idle for 30 seconds to a min...and then drive off gently keeping it below 3000...then 3500 once the temp gauge is almost up to the normal region..then wait till the oil pressure drops to 3 bar at idle and have fun!

Unfortunately, I know a guy who does that! He has an new Audi TT and red lining from the word go is not uncommon when setting off from work. Also, he has been known to redline down the road pull into the car-park and switch the engine off, thus stopping all oil flow to the turbo, which is still spooling down from ~100k rpm! It won't be long before something expensive breaks.

Start and go (per the Owner's Manual).
When the oil pressure drops below 3 bar at idle, you can proceed to drive the car harder.

It's even more important to wait for the oil pressure to drop if the car is a turbo.
