I haven't seen one before, although I have not really been looking.

Best of both worlds, or the worst of any?

Well the 996 is water cooled.
As for V8 conversions, talk to "George 911-V8" over on the 911 boards. He has a 363CI Chevy motor in the back of his 911. From what I hear, it's scary fast. But he gets a lot of flak from other 911 owners/Rennlisters.

I really like Chevy small blocks, Good engines, easy to hop up and very reliable. I have built dozens of them, but would not drop it to any Porsche. Let's keep Porsche as Porsche and Chevy as Chevy !
