porsche paint
guys, i am starting my newest restore project
Where do I find the code on my car to see what the original paint color was?
Also I am going to repaint it myself, does any one know of a reasonably priced supplier of paint?
also does any one know what the car color this car is I have attached?

Riviera blue. Go to www.paintscratch.com, porsche, 1995 it was a factory color then. Others ones that are close in Porsche are Mexico blue and a little lighter would be Gulf Blue.

The option code sticker is found in the rear hatch area. Unsnap the carpet around the hatch and look. The sticker is to the left (driver side) of the hatch lock on the body. Paint code and interior code as well as options are on the sticker.

Sorry to hijack- I'm about to have some paint work done as well and I wondering if the paint code on the sticker is a universal paint code, or is it Porsche specific? I just want to make sure the guys get the Zermatt Silver, don't want to end up with with a different color car.

i can't seem to find where to order larger amounts of paint (other than touch up quantities) anywhere, even on paintscratch.com...where would one find a gallon of guards red?
sorry to steal the thread a little!

To decode the paint code, go to: http://www.clarks-garage.com/.
Select garage shop manual > choose P for paint and look at the codes. Be sure you look at the correct year for your car.
I am sure the codes are only specific for Porsche. A shop should be able to decode and select the right color. Perhaps the shop could shoot some paint on a piece of scrap to ensure it is the right color?
