Default 944 Side skirts?

HI...

I was looking for side skirts for my 944S2 on the net. It's hard to find any one that's good looking...
Then I saw a picture of 968 and remembered that they have original side skirts... Does anyone know if this would fit my car?

Took this picture from ebay.

Picture doesn't work.

Not without a fair ammount of modification. You can buy the GT-Racing ones for you car, however their finish quality is not anywhere near an OE Part. It will require body work to fit.

I like the Strosek ones that a European member has on his car. He has the car for sale in the turbo forum section. However the availability and price is questionable.

Those are the 968 rockers.

Apparently (As I have never installed these personally) they fit with minimal modification and 3m double sided tape.

These are the 968 rockers I got from the UK. I modded them so that they would follow the coke bottle contour of the S2. It came out really well.

IMO the 968 rockers may not look to good on the S2 without the 968 rear bumper.

If you search for the user "Lorax" he posted some pictures of his car with the GT-Racing 968 style rocker panels a few months ago. I think he also posted some info about fitting them etc.

Okay I searched for the link myself and found it:

I agree 100%, you'll notice the top of the side skirt matches the line from the rear bumper. There are places in the UK which sell a fiberglass copy of the factory part I used. Worth while upgrade IMO. I still get positive comments from people to this day about it. Did it over 7 years ago.

Also, you'll notice in that pic of the coupe above that the side skirt sits to low. Mine were like this as well and I had the body shop mod them so they hugged the rocker of the S2. That way it followed the contours of the car. That skirt looks like it just goes straight down.

Edit: Yeah I just read his thread and he says that they sit lower than the stock rocker. No good. Mine are exactly where the old black plastic rocker was before I took them off. I had to have the body shop do this since as they came they had the same problem as him of being to long. Either way you have to mod them to get teh fit you want but if you're going to do this go for the gusto and do the 968 rear end as well. Totally worth it and transforms the car. Much meaner looking than a 968.

That's just a 968 rocker. You can look on ebay, call some big dismantlers around the world, try finding people on forums that are parting out a 968... etc. Or buy a reproduction from GT racing or Fiberwerks. And please keep the language clean .

Can you please explain what you mean by Coke bottle? What did you modify? How did you do it? Thanks.

^^^Look at my large pic from the front. Notice how the side skirt follows the contour of the car. The 944 is like a woman, or a coke bottle. 36 24 36

Most of these 968 installs they leave the rocker sort of like a boxed rocker and way to low. It can be no lower than the original black plastic skirt, that way it doesn't throw off the balance of the car. Look carefully at my pics and you'll see what I mean compared to the other white car.

And when I say "modded" I mean I cut them to pieces and then put them back together the way they should have been if the people who made them did their job like they knew what they were doing.
