Back on topic *cough cough* I notice that it says that the compression test read 175... would something about 145-155 be acceptable?

Yeah I think 145-155 is the normal range for an early NA motor. There are lots of variables in translating a psi reading to a compression ratio, but I find this table to be useful for estimates.
