Price of new rear quarter panel.
Does anyone know if Porsche is still making any rear quarter panels? If they do how much would one be? My car recently got backed into pretty bad, and i want to know the price of a new one. It might be totaled if it needs to be replaced .
Thanks

I think it will be much cheaper if you buy one used. That way, someone can cut one exactly the way you need it. The last quarter panels I got rid of I pretty much sold it for my labor cutting the darn thing off the car.

The other parties insurance will be paying for it so price doesnt really matter, unless the panel costs over $2000 which i might then have to fight for the car!

if its legal and within policy see if the company will pay for a new piece in fiberglass, its like $400 and light. might be kinda wonky though having one half the car all light and the other heavier

I'm pretty sure gt-racing.com has fg quarters- not that you are interested. There are lots of cars that use several materials for body panels- just look at the front end of your 944. I think there is a pretty extensive write up on the Lindsey racing site about their race car deconstruction/reconstruction that used fg fenders and quarters.

Early Rear Qtrs are NLA. Late ones are available from Germany for $740 MSRP a side (Most local shops will have their own price however).
Though, depending on the damage, there may be a lot more then just a quarter panel needed. However keep in mind, most good body shops can usually restore a panel using their own skills and equipment, thus the need for this part is not guarantee'd.
Personally, I think if the car truely needs a near rear qtr, the insurance company will prolly opt to total the car, as parts and especially labor easily outcost the market value of these cars.

Not sure. Don't have that information. Possibly the bits included with the set are different. There is a 931 Part number for Early 944's and a 944 number for 85.5+, so something changed. There are also different versions for RoW and US...
