Yeah... the lock bolt is VERY important to remove. when looking at the fork shaft, it's at a 90 degree angle from the fork shaft where you put in the bolt. once that's removed, it should be cake.
edit: the lock bolt is #4 on Cegan09's diagram

Unbolt the pressure plate through teh hole for the starter motor and remove the reference sensors. Then everything comes off in the clutch housing (except for the flywheel of course) and you will have plenty of room to smack that shaft out instead of messing with it in the car.
This thing does NOT come out as advertised unless you lube the crap out of it and remove it again within a few months.

Good job getting the rod out. Putting the rod back in is enjoyable.
Did you disconnect the ground cable at the top of the bellhousing? It can be tricky to angle it right. If everything is off, just keep trying different angles and jiggle, it should come off.

I never removed it either...it took some time for me to remove it, just move it around. Did the housing seperate from the engine? If so, then you could have a hose, wire or other object preventing you from removing it. Use your hands and feel around the edge of the housing to make sure nothing is interfering.

It feels like it is attached at the driver’s side top but I have all the housing bolts off and don't seem to have any obstruction. It is pretty loose...
Any ideas or obvious stupidity on my end?

Try having a helper tip the engine backward or foreward, whichever way is better, I don't know. It might help create some more clearance.

GOT IT OFF!!!!!
I wiggled and jiggled and it slid off.
Now I can't seem to get the t-tube back far enough...
I have turned it and slid it past the tabs but it is hitting the frame rail.
Thanks for the help.

I think someone already said this: REMOVE THE PRESSURE PLATE BOLTS THROUGH THE STARTER HOLE. THEN THE WHOLE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY WILL FALL OUT WITH THE BELL HOUSING.
