I disagree. I think that they are usually pretty on. If I understand correctly their values are partialy taken from what readers post to them. The problem is that everyone wants to look at the Excellent value when it most likley should not be considered excellent condition. Good condition for my car is at $11,345 and excellent is $15,188. I think it is worth $12,500 and I am sure I can get that if I wanted to. So to me they are correct.

Respectfully... I don't think an S2 cab is worth 12,500. I would love for it to be, and that's the whole point, the excellence report is based on the owners' world values, not real world values. You or I might pay the deserved price of 12,500 for your good looking car but people outside the Porsche world would not.

Well this is not the case in CA. People here know the 944 is a german rx-7 and the 968 is just an old boxster.
People only pay well for 911s. And here, they pay REAL well for 911s.

I've never felt that those values in Excellence are realistic. They are only as good as the information that is used. Most of that is from readers reports. Not really a scientific sampling IMHO.

I hear what you guys are saying; however, for me they seem to be on. I guess it really depends on the market that you are in. In the DC area all P-cars seem to do well. I sold my 87 944 in 2006 for $5,700 and the Excellence value was $4,818 good and $6,450 excellent so to me it was on. I bought my cab in NJ last year for $12,200 and their value was $11,326 good and $15,188 excellent so again to me they were on. I of course have put over $2.5K into it but being realistic that is only worth about $300 bucks now. It really depends how motivated the seller is. In my experience all of the good 944s (or 968s) for sell are not by motivated sellers thus they are willing to wait for a person to pay what they are asking. Again just my experience...west coast I am sure is different.

you should check prices in europe or germany. seems like these cars are realy cheap only in us. maybe that has something to do with ugly bumpers :P

The average joe bag-o-doughnuts on the street completes the purchase and is none the wiser.
I would use them for insurance estimates, however.
