Wrecked my Baby today 944 NA
Guys this is what happens when your wheels lock up going down a long steep hill in icy rain in Austin on the way to work.
I am OK. What a car ...what a car...not a scratch on me. Try hitting a truck that is at a dead stop at 60+ miles an hour down in a steep hill on a full 4 wheel slide on Icy wet greasy blacktop and be able to walk away. What a car. A Porsche with only 1800 market value saved me ...saved me big
You guys know me... I will repair her.

small oil leak from the oil cooler, fan housing crunched broken belt and the front end of the unibody bent.... head light buckets crushed hood totalled
i am open to suggestions but sometime this year I can find the $$ and time to bring her back.

Glad you are okay. I hope you are on the road in a 44 soon.

Sorry about the loss.
Why would you try to rebuild an 1800 dollar car? It will cost you more than that to rebuild it, to never be worth 1800 again.
I know it's Texas... but going 60 in an icy rain storm down a steep hill sounds like it will add up to that picture any day....

Wow. Lucky you're okay. Lucky you hadnt just finished fixing it up.
I agree with above, pull all you can use and buy another, dont waste time trying to fix it up.

I wish it were my fault
I am a trained and experienced driving instructor for the porshe club
There was nothing I could do
I was a passenger all the way down the hill

Damn... that's rough. glad you're OK... there's Ice in texas aside from in the freezer or margaritas? weird.
I say from a financial standpoint it would be best to part it out, pull your new engine, go to the junk yard and buy one that someone ditched.

The 944 is pretty resilient as far as frontal impacts go, you must have been moving at quite a clip to do that much damage! Glad to hear you are ok, but those aches will come up in the next few days. Take it easy.

the officer that gave a $350 ticket....told me I would be sore..
i want to also add that there were 2 other wrecks being processed at the bottom of this hill when I made my grand entrance to the party.
the sherriff just walked across the street to give me more pain
yeah i will be sore - i have never hit anything go that fast with the impacted at a dead stop made it very very real
that car saved my butt
it took two trucks to pull our cars apart in the freezing rain
the trucks hitch was inside my car
