I bought my saratoga top from Jeremy Himsel. PM him, he might remember the weight.

The top was well packed and I am pleased with the purchase. Unfortunately, I just disposed of the box last week so I am unable to give the weight and I was not here at the time of delivery so I'm not sure if it was UPS or Fed Ex.

I've shipped two of them now.

Both thru UPS. Just take it to UPS and they will weigh it and give you a quote. You will want to insure it for the full value and since it is glass(or glass-like) they will insist on crating it. Including the cost of the crate, shipping, and insurance each time I shipped one in the cont US it was around $150.

Mine came boxed (cardboard) with Styrofoam sheets on each side and on the ends. It was in the storage bag and IIRC had some bubble wrap around it too.

cool thanks for the help, i'd like to box it up myself, so i know how well it is packed, but it may be easier to just take it to UPS to ship it...now should i say on my eBay listing that shipping will be about 150? or should i say shipping will be determined after the item is sold according to your address

I would give the prospective buyer that shipping will be between 150 and 175 and that it will be shipped UPS. Final cost will be given to them once it is boxed and ready to go. That way you don't get someone trying to bargain with you on shipping method and also so that there is no sticker shock when you reveal the shipping cost to them.

These things are rare. You don't want to mess around with it getting broken and someone pointing a finger at you that it was packed improperly. Just my 3 cents.

saratoga is listed here, no reserve, no BIN, just a straight up auction

FWIW, I paid $40.00 shipping and insurance. Hopefully your shipping cost will not scare away any bidders.
