Default mo30 front swaybar question

for those of u with early steel a-arms -- did u bore out new holes in the swaybar end bushings to fit the new size bar or did u upgrade this end mount to a later style ??
thanks

I'm not exactly sure which parts were changed for M030, but when I swapped my stock bar for a 25.5 front sway the carrier on the control arm was the exact same piece. The difference was the interior diameter of the bushing.

When I put a 26.8mm bar on my 924S, I just bored out the hole slightly and used the old mounting setup.

it just seems that if i bore out the holes for the 30mm bar there wont be much bushing left !
thanks

For my 25.5 bar on my 924s I simply bored it slightly with a drill of corasponding size and then applied a little silicon grease and it went together beautifully. I was sweating this thinking I was gonna have to upgrade to aluminum arms and stuff. looking back it was really easy. Took all of ten minutes. The size differance of the larger bar-ends is small and I would suggest trying to push them on by hand at first.

I tried boring out the bushings but it sucked ***. What I wound up doing temporarily until I can get some delron bushings made is to use a set of stock center sway bar bushings. They work well but they're not perfect. I've done quite a few autoX's and they've held up well.

thanks guys for the advice ! the problem i am having is that the bushing is splitting when boring out a bigger hole. i 'am using a dremel tool -- i think the excessive heat may be causing this. next -- i will drill different size drill bits..

okay -- i think i got it. sparyed with a little silicon lubricant to help and slowly bored out a hole for my 30mm sway with out splitting the bushing. i would stop occasionally and spray again..we will see how it holds up..here are some pics..instaed of a regular drill bit .. i used a grinding bit..
thanks
