SoCal get together!

Michael - we didn't actually change my timing belt...we, er, corrected something funny about it, that was causing the timing belt tension pully to suddenly break free and rattle when I pulled her forward, to do the strut inserts! Something about the bolt missing, and it was nowhere to be found.
Frank fixed it, and we called it...just tooooo exhausted.

Jonathan, if you'd like to acutally participate in the auto-x, you must be a PCA member and register on the PCA-OCR website (www.pcaocr.org).
Directions can be found here:
http://www.pcaocr.org/forum/index.php?topic=143.0
Runs usually start around 9:00 and end around 4:00 - 4:30. I'll be there starting around 7:00 AM

Auto x sound like fun, I have never done one and would like to participate. Other then being a PCA member do you need anything else (like a helmet or fire extinguisher?). I am trying more and more to turn to the darkside of all things 944 so looking forward to seeing what this event is all about.

Yep, you do need a helmet. They have loaner helmets, but they're first come, first served.

Next SoCal wrenching get together at Frank's: Either Saturday, March 8th or Sunday, March 9th. Please let me know if you plan on coming and what date you think would be best. The plan is to rebuild a motor for Frank's 88 Spec car and install it. We will be working on a motor already out of the car. The idea behind the date is that it is one week before Auto X and it would be nice to help Frank get his car together and learn a lot along the way. What'ya think? Michael

If anyone wants to see a motor complete reseal including installing head etc let me know so you can come over when I am working on it. I want to have that done before the get together as the engine drop in will take a 1/2 day only so we can work on Michael's burgundy car.

A meet up this weekend sounds good! Please let me know the date and time with location. I am in Alhambra (near Pasadena and LA downtown). So, if the meet up is not too far, I should be able to make it.

I'll be there.
Going to put on my tie rods in a downtown LA parking structure (If I can get them lose of course)
I still have to put on the front struts & rear shocks, so I'll do those @ Franks.
Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Hey Don,
You can do the tie rods over here as some others may want to see how its done. Also, I can't imagine changing tie rods in a parking lot as it would be no fun. Also just in case the new ones you bought do not fit, maybe we can do a conversion like what I mentioned earlier.
The plan is to assemble the motor with complete reseal and dropping it in the track car. Maybe we can have a 2 day wrenching session and anyone who wants to see/learn/help in any aspect of the engine reseal, intallation, timing belt/clutch swap over (during the engine change), or the 15 minute front strut insert replacement maneuver can come over on either days.
