Does anyone have pics of 944's with various paint/stripe schemes? I'm thinking about doing something for my race car this winter (we have 4 red 944's in our class that all look nearly identical, much to the dismay of Timing & Scoring), so I would like to make mine stand out a bit more. Nothing too fancy... it only has to be "race car good", so just whatever I can do with spray paint and vinyl graphics.

Right now I'm thinking that I want the rocker panels and maybe part of the front bumper to be black... the paint in those areas gets bombarded with rocks and bits of other people's race tires, so I figure I might as well just paint them black. I have a few ideas of what I might do with a red/black paint scheme, but I'm not the most artistic person, so it would be helpful to see pics of what other people have done and how it turned out...

My paint scheme was inspired by the Shell 944 Turbo cup car. It turned out diffrence due to my limitaions on painting skills, but love how it came out. I also suffered from the same issue of too many red cars.

Also look at the 944 spec driver listing for ideas. Maybe mix and match a few ideas. Also there are things you may want to do in vinyl vs paint.

Here is my car as it evolved over the years.
Basic red as painted with unpained FG spoiler. This white would become part of my theme over the years


With graphics, same paint.


Added in some extra front paint work to make it different


This got really beat up over time and decided to go completly fresh with this inspiration.


I sanded down compete and came out with this what you see now.
