Default Hello from Quebec

Hi guys, I'm a new member from Levis, just across the St-Laurent river from Quebec City, Canada. I've owned a gold/brown 1985-1/2 944 for 6 years and I love it to death ! It's got 145,000 km, its original paint and was never driven in the winter. I even owned a '73 914 1.7 in 1977 while I was 18 but the parts prices scared me and I sold it after 1 year, lol !

I think this is a very nice forum, it's a shame I haven't discovered it before ....

Oh and I raced in autocross and road racing for 20 years, as well as being driving instructor in autocross, rally, ice racing and road racing.....So it should be fun talking with some of the enthusiasts I've seen when reviewing a number of threads in here !

Very nice!
Have you ever used anything to clean your engine bay?

Welcome! Like others have said, your car looks like it's in fantastic shape. Is that Kalahari gold?

Thanks for the comments. This car is not perfect, it's got rock chips on the front and on driver side as well as some scratches but hey, it's a 22 years old paint ! I have the complete history from the two previous owners, the first one being an important Honda dealer in Quebec City ! I even got the Quality Check delivery paper from the selling dealer. I don't think I'll ever part with this car ! The engine is cleaned once a year and since I rarely use it when it's raining it stays that way.

And when I think she's not worth more than the Suzuki Burgman 400 scooter I bought two months ago....nobody will steal her from me !!!

I've heard of "barn yard finds" before, but never thought that applied to "owners" as well as the cars!
I think we'll all be bleeding racing techniques from you.

Nice n/a.

Lolll Todd, no problem ! I can tell you I made a name in Canada 'cause I won championships in Autocross and Formula Ford racing...but for details I will do it in private, I don't want to come here and look like the guy "with the inflatable head" !

Sorry guys, but I can't find a section giving the explanations on how to understand the data plate in the back of the car....I see the chassis number but I can't figure out the other numbers...I found an option de-code tool on the site but there's 2 options that I didn't find ! And nothing about the rest of the plate...

Thanks for the help !
