Default Shift **** question

Anybody know if a late shift **** will fit in an early car? I'm toying with getting either a 951 or maybe a boxster shift **** for my car and was wondering if anybody had experience with putting a later shift **** in the early interior. Thanks

I don't think the bottom of the boot will fit right. Also, 951 shifters are the same as 85.5+ shifters.

951 will fit an early car. Boxster will not fit.

Boxsters have a round **** right, compared to the rectangle?

I think someone made an adapter once.

The **** itself will fit, you just need an early shift boot.

Here are a few photos of how I modified the shift lever on my early car (done with a hacksaw and file).

I had no problem putting a boxster shifter in my car. Just had to cut the head off the boot
