I have already gutted the cat. Im gonna drop the exhaust again and try to see if there is something I missed, but I really dont think so. I spent 10 minutes ramming the handle from my jack (in a hotel parking lot no less) into the cat to break that crap loose so I hope thats not causing the problem.

I just didnt have a light to use, the car felt a lot better after I gutted it so I figured it was ok. Im gonna drop the exhaust tomorrow and take a closer look.

Joe,
Spark plugs were changed about 5 months ago with the OEM bosch plugs. They still look ok. When I bought the car in may last year, I ran a can of BG 44k through the car when I bought it last may and in my experience that stuff does a pretty good job of cleaning out the fuel system.
Wouldnt a cracked ring or bent valve show up in the leakdown test? It was done after buying the car last year, so maybe I should do it again to see if this is something that has recently developed.

He is down on power and all that crap will just mask the real problems.
As for it being the cat. It could be that the gutted cat is causing a probelm. However with a proper test pipe a stock well running motor will be in 130's. Most stock cars with fully functioning cats are the mid-lower 120's.
